Herbert Wesley Abernathy, 77, Athens, died Friday at the Athens-Limestone Hospital.
The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with A. J. Rollings, Jerry Curry and Burl Grubbs officiating. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bera Hogan Abernathy; four daughters, Mrs. Betty Eubanks of Hobart, Ind., Mrs. Margaret Holland of Huntsville, Mrs. Kathryn Bowers and Mrs. Patricia Simmons, both of Athens; four sons, Ellis Abernathy, Charles Edwin Abernathy, Wesley Abernathy and Elton Abernathy, all of Athens; two sisters, Mrs. Julia Collins and Mrs. Mamie Claxton, both of Athens; a brother, Henry Abernathy of Athens; 22 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
