Funeral services for Kate Abel Rogers, 90, of Lexington were held Saturday, March 27 at 2 p.m. at Harlands Creek Baptist Church with Bro. Roger Richardson and Bro. Joel Smith officiating. Burial was in Harlands Creek Cemetery.

Mrs. Rogers died of a stroke on Friday, March 26, 1999 at Methodist Healthcare in Lexington.

A native of Holmes County, Mrs. Rogers was a homemaker and an active member of Harlands Creek Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Oscar Rogers in 1988 and a daughter, Johnny Ruth Rogers who passed away in 1955.

Survivors include: sons, James Robert Rogers and Frank Rogers, both of Lexington, Layton Rogers of Heber Springs. Arkansas, Paul Rogers of Vicksburg: daughter, Lura Sykes of Lexington: brother, Floyd Abel of Warner Robbins, Georgia; sister, Nettie Halford of Starkville; eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were; Chris Rogers, Rodney Rogers, Scott Rogers, Louis Howell, Bill Garmon, and J.J. Pritchard.
