OBITUARY–SCHONFELTD
Mrs. Minnie Schonfeltd, wife of F. W. Schonfeltd, after an illness of three years, died at her home on the D. F. Piazzek farm east of Valley Falls, Sunday, October 3, 1915, aged 42 years, 2 months and 17 days.
Minnie Westpfahl was born in Germany, July 16, 1872, and came to America with her parents 40 years ago and to Valley Falls, Kansas, in February, 1915.
At Hampden, Iowa, in 1892, Minnie, was married to F. W. Schonfeltd, and to this union were born ten children, all of whom with the father, survive, except one, Olinda who died at Osceola, Mo., at the age of 14 years. The children living are Anna, Charles, Ada, Martha, Irena, Lida, Lily, John and Elnora, all at home.
Her five brothers and one sister living are Will and Henry Westpfahl and Mrs. Mary Alff, of Kansas City, Mo., John, Clear Lake, Iowa, Herman, Hawkeye, Iowa, and Ernest Westpfahl, Milwaukee, Wis.
A true and faithful wife and mother has gone to her reward. She was a member of the Lutheran church.
The funeral was held from the home Wednesday morning. Dr. Holmes Dysinger of Atchison and pastor of the Lutheran church here, conducting the services in the presence of the immediate members of the family, many coming from abroad to attend, and the near friends and neighbors.
The burial was in the Farrar cemetery.
