John Benedict Daiker, 53, of Rockwell City, died of a heart attack Sunday, May 25, at the home of his fathr-in-law, Lloyd McCuen, near Rockwell City.
Requiem mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday in St. Francis Church at Rockwell City by the Rev. Edward Carpenter. Interment will be in the Lake City Cemetery. Arrangements are in charge of the Huffman Memorial Chapel, Lake City, where the rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. both Monday and Tuesday.
Mr. Daiker farmed southeast of Rockwell City. A son of John and Caroline Thelen Daiker, he was born Aug. 14, 1915, at Glidden. His marriage to Helen Jean McCuen took place at Auburn July 2, 1942. He was a member of St. Francis Church, Rockwell City.
Surviving are his wife; his parents of Lake View; and the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Mabel Schug, Mrs. Kenneth Finley and Cornelius Daiker, Auburn; Mrs. Albert Mohr, Fonda; Mrs. Ralph Drees, Taopi, Minn.; Mrs. Merle Abney and Leonard Daiker, Milaca, Minn.; LeRoy Daiker, Onamia, Minn.; and Joe Daiker, Churdan.
