Sebastian Aberle, 69, Napoleon, died Nov. 1, 2008, at Medcenter One, Bismarck.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, at St. Philip Neri Catholic
Church, Napoleon. Burial will be in St. Philip Catholic Cemetery, Napoleon.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday at Dahlstrom Funeral
Home, Napoleon, with a Knights of Columbus rosary at 6:30 p.m. followed by a
prayer service at 7 p.m.

Sebastian Aberle, son of Joseph and Helen (Mitzel) Aberle, was born Aug. 25,
1939, near Kintyre, on the family farm where he was raised. As a young man,
Sebastian joined the Army in service to his country. Sebastian united in
marriage to Benedicta Schatz on Nov. 27, 1965, at St. Boniface Catholic Church
at rural Kintyre. The family moved to Lodi, Calif., where he worked at the
Winemaster's Guild for 10 years and was a Cub Scout leader and baseball coach.
In 1979, he moved back to rural Kintyre, where he ran a dairy farm for the next
20 years while raising their four children. Sebastian retired in 1999 and moved
into Napoleon.

Sebastian enjoyed his retirement, pursuing his love of woodworking and painting.
Sebastian's greatest love and passion was spending time with his family,
especially enjoying time with his six grandchildren. Throughout Sebastian's life
he was a member of the Knights of Columbus as a fourth degree, American Legion
member, a volunteer firefighter and a trustee to St. Boniface Church. Sebastian
was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather.

Sebastian is survived by his wife, Betty, Napoleon; their four children and six
grandchildren, Ricky (Christine), their four children, Garrett, Danielle,
Everett and Isabelle, Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, James (Isela), Laveen, Ariz.,
Sharon (Kevin) Clark, their two children, Brittney and Kaylee, Anthem, Ariz.,
and Ronnie, Napoleon; his father, Joseph J. Aberle, Napoleon; five brothers, two
sisters, two brothers-in-law and five sisters-in-law, sister, Marie Mitzel,
Coalinga, Calif., brother-in-law, Bill Glatt, Bismarck, brother, LeRoy (Carmen)
Aberle, Herreid, S.D., brother, David (Judy) Aberle, Mechanicville, Iowa,
brother, Larry (Sue) Aberle, Glen Carbon, Ill., brother, Steve (Pat) Aberle,
Gerald, Mo., brother, Joseph (Lorraine) Aberle, Wishek, and sister, Helen
(Mark), Fargo; his mother-in-law, Anna Schatz, Napoleon; and six brothers-in-law
and eight sisters-in-law through the Schatz family, Frances Sauvageau, Theresa
(John) Marquart, Cecilia (Oscar) Nyland, Margaret Schatz, Gabriel (LaRae)
Schatz, Larry (Cheryl) Schatz, Markus (Judith) Schatz and John (Irene) Schatz.

Sebastian was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Aberle; his father-in-law,
Anton G. Schatz; one sister, Adeline Glatt; an infant brother, James Aberle; one
sister-in-law, Helen Schatz; and two brothers-in-law, Mike Mitzel and Rick
Sauvageau.
