Lois Elaine Aardsma, 51, of Rancho Cordova, California, entered into eternal rest following a brief illness on February 26, 2007 in San Francisco, California. A graduate of the Grand Rapids, Michigan, Butterworth School of Nursing, Lois obtained the rank of Captain in the U. S. Air Force before joining the staff of the Sutter Memorial Hospital Psychiatric Unit in Sacramento, California. She was preceded in death by a younger brother, Richard, and by all four of her grandparents. She is survived by her parents, Paul and Doris Aardsma of Des Moines, Iowa; brothers Carl of Everett, Washington, Douglas of Rancho Cordova, California and extended family. Lois is remembered for her lifelong love of the out-of-doors and animals; her dedicated support of the SPCA and DAV; and her devotion to Jesus Christ – her Lord and Savior. A service celebrating her life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2007, at the Hamilton's Southtown Funeral Home with interment in the Glendale Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, March 9, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, the Humane Society, or to the Emmanuel Baptist Church of Des Moines, Iowa.
