The funeral service for June Y. Abbett, age 80 of Hackneyville, will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Liberty Holiness Church with Bro. Terry Futral officiating. Burial will follow in the New Prospect Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Abbett passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017 at her home. She was a native of Cragford and a former resident of Ashland but had lived in Tallapoosa County for the past 39 years. Mrs. Abbett was a graduate of Lineville High School and had worked as a seamstress for Russell Manufacturing for over 35 years. She was a member of Liberty Holiness Church and loved tending her flower garden.
Mrs. Abbett is survived by one daughter, Suzianne Harris of Hackneyville; two sons: Lane Robinson of Hackneyville and Les Robinson (Angela ) of Ashland; three sisters: Vondell Fetner of Lineville, Margaret Spurlin of Douglasville, GA and Vera Hayles of Dothan; one brother, James N. Yarbrough (Elyse) of Wedowee plus seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Carl Driscoll Yarbrough and Lois Virginia Padgett Yarbrough; her husband, Kyle Abbett; three sisters and four brothers.
Pallbearers will be Lane Robinson, Lester Robinson, Jeremy Green, Anthony Firillo, Gabe Futral and Jathan Futral.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 12:30 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. at Liberty Holiness Church.
