BROWN
Waldo E. Brown, son of C. O. and Beatrice Scales Brown, was born in Wayne County, Iowa on January 22, 1926 and passed away at the Veterans Hospital in Omaha, Nebr. on Sept. 6, 1984.
His early life was spent in Chariton, Iowa, graduating from Chariton High School in 1942. After graduation, he attended college for a short time. He then left college to enlist in the Marines, where he spent three years.
He returned to Chariton and married Roberta Brightwell. Four children were born to this union. They lived in Omaha, where he owned and operated a vault company and managed the Mt. Hope Cemetery. In 1981, he returned to Chariton where he remained until three weeks ago.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by two sons, Bruce Allen of Salt Lake City, Utah and Gary Dennis of Omaha, Nebr.; and two daughters, Lori Dianne Brown of Big Springs, Nebr., and Shelley Ann Hinkle of Omaha, Nebr.; three granddaughters and four grandsons. Also surviving are two sisters, Wilma Abel of Chariton and Margaret Jackson of Mission, Texas; and one brother, Melvin Brown of Chariton, along with many other relatives and many friends.
Memorial services were held Monday, Sept. 10, 1984 at the Mosher Funeral Home. The services were conducted by Rev. Wauneita McConnell.
