Summary
Joseph Aberle, 86, retired Napoleon farmer, died Wednesday at Ashley Hospital.
Services will be Saturday at St. Phillip Catholic Church in Napoleon, burial in church cemetery.
Born on a farm 6 miles N of Zeeland in McIntosh Co., 27 Apr 1886, to Michael and Regina (Thomas) Aberle. He married Clara Schumacher 3 Nov 1907 at St. John's Catholic Church, 5 miles N of Zeeland.
The couple farmed in McIntosh Co until 1914, when they moved to a farm 9 miles SW of Napoleon, retiring in 1934 to Napoleon and on 31 Oct 1972 they moved to Napoleon Senior Center.
Survived by his widow; 5 sons, Joseph Jr, Jacob, Thomas and Anton all of Napoleon, Peter of Bismarck; 3 daughters, Mrs. Philip (Katherina) Fettig of Napoleon, Mrs. Baltzer (Mary Ann) Weigel of Kintyre and Mrs. Leo (Regina) Weber of Hillsboro, OR.
Also 5 brothers, John and Adam of Zeeland, Peter of Mobridge, SD, Andrew of McClusky and Sebastian of Mandan; 1 sister, Mrs. Regina Hartze of Hague; 37 grandchildren, 83 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.
