On Aug 3, 1900 he was married to Ida Kaasa also of Ridgeway at Fargo, ND. He farmed in Winneshiek county, Iowa until 1907 when he moved to a homestead seven miles north of Draper, SD. He farmed and ranched there until 1939 when he moved to a smaller farm just east of Murdo.
One son George, died in childhood and one son, Walter was killed in action in the Pacific in 1944. Mrs Anderson passed away in 1957.
Survivors include 4 daughters and one son; Edna Liffengren, Mrs Rex Orr, Irene Andersen, Mrs Clarence Kruse and Paul Anderson, 19 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; three sisters Anna Alberton, Lena Brenno, Mathilda Halvorson and one brother Iver Anderson.
