John M. Albers, 82, Oakley, died Feb. 24, while at work at the Union Pacific Depot in Oakley.

Mr. Albers was born Aug. 11, 1904, in Angelus. He had been a resident of Oakley for 46 years. He was a laborer and a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus both of Oakley.

Survivors include his wife, Mary of the home; six sons: Bernard F. of Salt Lake City, LeRoy J. of Salina, James M. of Oakley, William D. of Denver, Gary L. of Gillette, Wyo., and Charles M. of Hays; four daughters: Evelyn M. Geist of Grinnell, Helen D. Legleiter of Hays, Roberta R. Robben of Oakley and Mary Loree Hesser of Oakley; a brother Francis of Garden City; a sister Elizabeth Schumard of Paris, Mo.; 44 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

The funeral was 10:30 a. m. Friday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Oakley, the Rev. Alvin Werth officiating, burial in the church cemetery with Koster Funeral Home in charge. Memorials may be made to the St. Joseph's Church Organ Fund.
