FARMER TAKES LIFE

Horace Abraham, 38-year-old farmer, hanged himself Saturday at his farm 4 miles north of Emporia on Route 2, Jim ay Wilcox, acting Lyon County coroner, said Abraham's body was found inthe hayloft of the barn on the farm. Wilcox said Abraham left a written message indicating that he was depressed and worried about his farming work. The man had not been in good health, a relative said. Sheriff Dan Rowlands and Coroner Wilcox were called to the Abraham farm about 12:45 o'clock Saturday afternoon.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock in the Roberts-Blue Funeral home, and will be conducted by Rev. Hugh B. Fouke, pastor of the First Methodist Church. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.

Horance Marshall Abraham was born in Lyon county November 26, 1903, and married Irene Reichardt in Americus March 12, 1933. He is survived by his wife and a daughter, Patrica Ann, of the home; his parents Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Abraham Emporia; a brother, Ernest Abraham, Oklahoma City, Okla., and a sister , Mrs. Lucile Shockley, St. Louis, Mo. he was a member of the Bethel Methodist church.
