Amanda Whitten Adams, 102, died Saturday, November 1 at her Tutor Key home. Mrs. Adams was born February 20, 1884 in Johnson County, the daughter of Raze and Sara Branham Ward. Her husband, K. B. Adams, preceded her in death. Surviving are three sons, Jay Whitten of Thelma, Denzil Whitten of Prestonsburg, and Charles Whitten of Trenton, MI; a step son, Ernest Adams of Waverly, OH; two daughters, Marsella Mills of Ecorse, MI, and Hazel Meade of Williamsport; three step daughters, Irene Preston of Nippa, Ethel Preston of Tutor Key, and Callie Daniels of Paintsville; 39 grandchildren, 76 great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday, November 4 in Jones-Preston Funeral Home Chapel with Elders Ivan Butcher and Glen Arrowood officiating. Burial was in Highland Memorial Park at Staffordsville.
