MARS HILL - Alda Corn Adams, 96, died Monday, May 27, 1996, in a local nursing center after an extended illness.
She was a native of Madison County, where she lived most of her life. She was the wife of Gay Adams, who died in 1957. She later married George Marino, who died in 1978.
She is survived by her daughter, Betty Adams Gaddy of Weaverville; sons, Douglas Adams and Hartsel Adams of Asheville, Doyle Adams of Weaverville, Arthur Adams of Mars Hill; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Capps Funeral Home with the Revs. Garold Metcalf and Steve Penland officiating. Burial will be in Upper Metcalf Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Betty Gaddy, Murphy Hill Road, Weaverville.
