Cremation and Graveside services will be held for Raymond Abatte 80, at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 6, 2014 at Saint Edward Catholic Church Cemetery, New Iberia, LA with Deacon Raymond Derouen, officiating.
A native and resident of New Iberia, LA, he passed at 12:10 P.M. Sunday at Belle Teche Nursing Center in New Iberia, La.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Thelma Fusilier Abatte of New Iberia, LA; two sons, Ronald Stevens and Anthony Abatte; one daughter, Roxanne Abatte; three grandchildren, Kendall Abatte, Nathaniel Collins, and Vernon Abatte, Jr.; two brothers, Stanley Abatte of Baytown, TX, and Santey Abatte of Beaumont, TX, three sisters, Emma Broussard of Katy, TX, Serita Auzenne of Houston, TX, and Irene Abatte of Coteau, LA, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gabriel Abatte and Stella Kerlegan Abatte, two sons, Vernon Abatte, Sr. and Kenneth Stevens, two brothers, Delton Abatte and Lionel Abatte, two sisters, Lucille Auzenne and Stella Abatte.
