Services will be held at 10:00 AM CDT on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at St. Martin’s Catholic Church, Center with Fr. Selva Periannan officiating. Burial will follow at Hannover Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the church with a vigil service at 7:00 PM.
Edith was born on May 26, 1931 in Rosebud, ND to Matthew and Regina (Pfliger) Berger. She attended country school near Center, ND.
Following school, Edith moved to Billings, MT for a time where she worked as a waitress. Later she moved to Minneapolis, MN and Milwaukee, WI before returning to Center where she met Gene Albers, whom she married on April 3, 1971 at St. Martin’s Catholic Church, Center. Edith had two sons, Ronald and Walter Berger. Edith and Gene farmed west of Hannover for many years. Gene passed away on September 20, 2014.
Edith enjoyed gardening and animals. She especially loved flowers and cats, was an avid baker and was always active with farm chores.
Edith is survived by her sons, Ronald and Walter; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Nick Berger of Mandan, ND; two sisters, Frances Fuchs and Katie Kautzman, both of Bismarck, ND; one brother-in-law, Norman Albers of Bismarck; one sister-in-law, Correne Henke of Hannover; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; her parents; one sister, Betty Hagel; and three infant siblings.
Arrangements are conducted by Barbot Funeral Home, Beulah and Hazen.
