PIONEER AKRON RESIDENT DIES
Rites Last Thursday In Sioux City For Mrs. Maggie Farrin

There was briefly chronciled in these columns last week the death of Mrs. Maggie (William) Farrin, and early day Akron resident, on Monday, April 11, in Sioux City, age 64 years, 5 months and 13 days.

Maggie Buck was born in Akron [actually, South Dakota] (then Portlandville) October 29, 1875, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Len. Buck, pioneer resident. In young womanhood she married a Mr. Magee, who preceded her in death. Later she married William Farrin, and they moved to Sioux City about forty years ago. He died there several years ago.

Survivors include four sons, Leonard Magee, Raymond and Theodore Farrin, all of Sioux City, and Ralph Farrin of Portland, Ore.; three daughters, Mrs. O. M. Abbott, of Ponca, Nebr.; Mrs. Jessie Bocher and Mrs. R. E. Flethcher, both of Sioux City; 22 grandchidren, and 30-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held last Thursday afternoon at the Perasso funeral home in Sioux City, Rev. Fred A. McNeil, of St. Paul's Episcopal church, officiating. Pallbearers were Leonard Magee, Jr., Barry Norton, Lloyd Shapley, Harry Jungwirth, Wesley Buck and Conrad A. Newell. Burial was in Akron Riverside cemetery.
