Mrs. O'Connell died Oct 10,1974, in Steele Memorial Hospital where she had been confined for one month.
She was born May 23,in Dillon, Mont., the daughter of John H. and May Ann Lish Adams. The family moved to the Salmon area while she was still asmall child and ranched on Kirtley Creek, She received her schooling there.
On January 1,1915, she was married to Ralph Hixson and they ranched on Kirtley Creek, Two children were born, Wesley and Loretta.
Mr. Hixson died Oct 31,1926, and she moved to Salmon to make her home with her mother.
On Jan 3,1929, she was married to Patrick H. O'Connell. They made their home in Salmon and Mr. O'Connell operated a barber shop. One daughter, Eileen, was born.
Mr. O'Connell died May 6,1959, and since that time she had made her home with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Cleverley.
She is survived by one son, Wesley R. Hixson of Anaconda, Mont., two daughters, Loretta Lester and Eileen Cleverley, both of Salmon; two grandchildren, Pat Miller of Kimble, Neb., and Kay Lynn Cleverley of Salmon; two sisters, Ruby Hixson of Salmon; Elda Reneau of Cataldo; one brother, James Adams of Salmon and several nieces and nephews, She was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
Two vocal solos, "In The Garden" and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere"were sung by Merrill Womach.
Pallbearers were Bill Cannon, Palph Cottrell, Charley Malcolm, Jerry Butler, Bill King and Gene Hussey.
Vault interment took place in the Salmon Cemetery.
