On February 25, 1933 she married Harm Gerdes and they made their home in Watertown, South Dakota.
They had one daughter, Beverly (Gerdes) Urban.
Sarah is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Dean (Bev) Urban of Watertown; two sisters, Grace Splinter of Watertown and Mrs. Harry (Jessie) Wallway of Vancouver, Washington; five granchildren; and 15 great grandchildren.
Services will be in the Lutheran Brethren Church.
Harm passed away on Septmeber 7, 1987. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Watertown, South Dakota.
