She was born December 16, 1935, in Wayne County, Kentucky, to Elmer McDaniel and Cecil Lee West. She married William G. "Willie" Abbott on June 1, 1951, in Tipton, Indiana, and he preceded her in death on September 12, 1995.
Surviving are five sons, William L. Abbott, Home E. Abbott, Ronnie G. Abbott, Johnnie G. Abbott and Daniel Lee Abbott, all of Frankfort; one sister, Carrie Bates of Monticello, Kentucky; four brothers, Henry West and Walter West of Frankfort, Rex West on Monticello, Kentucky, and Harry Arthur West of Florida; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Five sisters and four brothers preceded her in death.
Entombment will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
