Harry L. Aanderud was born March 10, 1903 on the family farm in South Viking Township of Benson County near Maddock to Claus & Marie Vangen Aanderud. He attended the Hellerud local school near there. He married Alice Togstad March 30, 1926 at Minnewaukan. They farmed the family farm in South Viking Township until moving to Maddock in 1984.
Harry was the oldest male member & past president of Viking Lutheran Church & was well knownfor his knowledge of local history, contributing greatly to the Viking Lutheran Church's 75th anniversary book. He also had served many years on the election board.
Survivors include his wife, Alice; 2 sons & daughters-in-law, Rodger & Elizabeth Aanderud of Michigan & David & Kay Aanderud of Colleyville, Tex.; a daughter & son-in-law, Dallas & Harold Berglund of Cavalier; 9 grandchildren; a step-grandchild; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 step-great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Lloyd Aanderud of Jamestown & Randall Aanderud of Maddock; & a sister, Gladys Gilbertson of Rugby.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Walter & Edwin; a sister, Clarice Nelson; & a granddaughter, Arlene Kay Aanderud.
