Mr. Poole was born December 18, 1924, in Enterprise, La., to his parents, Nathan and Desi [sic Dessa] McVay Poole. He married Margie Louise Steel on April 4, 1958, and moved to Athens in 1962. He was employed as an insurance agent for Washington National.
