Mrs. Kelley Beerbower

LAWRENCE - Mrs. Kelley Grace Beerbower, 86, died Friday at a Lawrence nursing home where she had been a few days. She was born July 13, 1893, at Fort Scott.

Mrs. Beerbower lived on a farm southwest of Valley Falls for 32 years before moving to a farm north of Lawrence in 1955. She moved to Lawrence in 1968.

She married James Walter Beerbower in 1909. He died June 7, 1956. She also was preceded in death by a son Paul Beerbower, who was killed during World War II.

Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Elsie Abbey, Belton, MO, Mrs. Eva Acree, El Paso, Texas, Mrs. Dora Rolfe, Phoenix, AZ, Mrs. Norma Jean Smith, Olathe, and Josephine Beerbower, of the home; two sons, Jack Beerbower, Eudora, and Jim Beerbower, McLouth; 13 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Services will be Tuesday at Nellis-Hagge Funeral Home, Valley Falls. Burial will be in Valley Falls Cemetery. Mrs. Beerbower will be lie in state Tuesday at the funeral home.
