Bera Mae Abernathy of Athens died Sunday. She was 94.
Mrs. Abernathy was a member of the Sardis Spring Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Abernathy.
Survivors include four daughters, Betty Eubanks of Toney, Kathryn Bowers and Patricia Simmons, both of Athens, and Margaret Smith of Huntsville; four sons, Thomas Elton Abernathy, Charles Edwin Abernathy, David Ellis Abernathy and Wesley A. Abernathy, all of Athens; two sisters, Lucille Wales and Jeanell Pullum, both of Indiana; one brother, Morris Hogan of California; 22 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Carl Witty and Bobby Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.
