Funeral services for Mrs. Sally McDaniel Adams, age 64, of Newellton, LA. will be held at 10AM, Thursday, September 28, 2006 at First Baptist Church of Newellton with Rev. Cecil Perry officiating. Burial will follow in Legion Cemetery under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home of Tallulah.

Sally had battled cancer for almost two years. She fought a good fight and stayed strong for her family until God called her home on Tuesday, September 26, 2006.

Sally graduated from Newellton High School in 1959 and from Louisiana Business College in April of 1961. She was a valued employee of Newellton Elevator, Delta Gin and Franklin Plantation where she served as bookkeeper for over 40 years and was loved and respected by all that worked with her. She will be sorely missed. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Newellton where she was an active member of the MAE Sunday School Class and was a choir member.

Sally was a beautiful and talented woman. She painted, drew and framed pictures and had the voice of an angel. She loved nature, especially birds. She loved people and was a caregiver by nature being a loving and caring friend to many.

She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Emmett L. Adams, Jr.; a son, Lawrence Daniel Adams and wife Rebecca of Newellton; daughters, Sonya Elisha Adams Collins and husband, Keith of Start, LA. and Jacquelin Hope Adams Hankins and husband, Michael of Newellton; six grandchildren, Jessica Tam, Daniel and Emily Adams, Daphne, Benjamin and Mallory Collins; one great grandchild, George Austin Savage; one brother, Amos McDaniel and six sisters; Clarice Williams, Elsie Ruth Kelly, Shirley Floyd, Joyce Felter, Dixie Williams and Carrole Cannon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Billy Wayne Adams, Eric Adams, Cedric Williams, Douglas Felter, Scotty Floyd and Wade McDaniel.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
