OBITUARY: MRS. ED ENGEMAN DIES UNEXPECTEDLY THIS A.M. Mrs Ed Engeman died this (Thursday) morning in a St. Joseph hospital. Mrs. Engeman was taken to the hospital June 8, suffering with a liver infection. Her condition was improved until it took a fatal turn today. She was in her early 60's.
Mrs. Engeman is survived by her husband; two sons, Victor and Lloyd; four daughters, Mrs. J. W. Ritter, Mrs. Gerhart Benitz, and Mrs. Walter Abbett, all of Wathena, and Mrs. Anderson Holaday of St. Joseph, and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Zion Evangelical and Reformed church Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. R.O. Laaser officiated.(Src: The Wathena Times, June 15, 1950.)

Ritter, Mrs. Walter Abbett and Mrs. Gearhart Benitz, all of Wathena, and Mrs. Anderson Holaday, St. Joseph; two sons, Lloyd and Victor Engeman, both of Wathena; two sisters, Mrs. W. A. Bauman, Wathena, and Mrs. Lloyd Williamson, Kansas City; three brothers, John Haupt, Wathena; Charles Haupt, Topeka, and Victor Haupt, Omaha, a step-brother, Tony Bauer, Idaho, and seven grandchildren.
