Johnny F. Sutton -MACON - Johnny F. Sutton, age 81, of Macon, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2009. Graveside services will be held at 11A.M. Saturday, October 31 in the Morningside Cemetery. Reverend Mike Slade will officiate.
Mr. Sutton was born on March 21, 1928 in Wilcox County having lived the greater part of his life in Macon. He was son of the late Charles Otis Sutton and Minnie Louise Bagwell Sutton. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base and was a member of the Liberty Hill United Methodist Church, the DAV, and the American Legion Post 71. He wrote and published the Sutton family history. He served his country with honor in the United States Army Air Force.
Survivors include wife, Mary Frances Sutton of Macon; sons, J. Floyd (Beverly) Gregory of Perry and Johnny F. (Celina) Sutton, Jr. of Macon; daughter, Susan (Edmond) Schneider of Richmond, Virginia; brothers, James Sutton of Madison, Alabama and William Sutton of Rochelle; sisters, Marion Herring of Warner Robins, Annette Abbott of Dallas, Dorothy Terry of Pitts and Alice Brooks of Rochelle; and two grandchildren, Courtney Elizabeth Gregory of Atlanta and Caroline Ashley Sutton of Macon.
The family suggests that memorials be made to the Methodist Home for Children and Youth, P.O. Box 2525, Macon, GA 31216.
Visitation will be from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. Saturday, October 31 in the funeral home.
Frazier and Son Funeral Home in Rochelle is in charge of arrangements.
