Mr. Peer died Tuesday at a Topeka hospital after an apparent heart attack.

He was born Oct. 23, 1934 in Baldwin. He lived in Baldwin his early years and later lived in Lawrence and North Platte, Neb., before moving to Topeka in the early 1950s.
