WILLIAM ARTHUR PEER was born November 19, 1922 to Charles and Birdie Martin Peer at Baldwin, Kansas [Note: Birdie, his mother said he was born in Des Moines, IA]. He grew up and attended school in the area and worked with his father in a sawmill for a number of years. Later he moved to Lawrence, Kansas.
In 1952 he moved to North Platte, Nebraska where he worked for Al's Shoe Repair for a number of years. Since 1966 he has owned and operated seveal shoe repair shops in North Platte. At the present time he was the owner and operator of Peer's Cowboy Boot Repair.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Clariece; one son, William S. Peer of North Platte, Nebraska; two daughters: Miss Ramona Jean Peer and Miss Mary Diane Peer of North Platte, Nebraska; his mother, Mrs. Birdie Peer of Topeka, Kansas; two brothers; Charles M. Peer and James D. Peer of Toeka, Kansas; three sisters; Mrs. Mary Lou Tostado and Mrs. Alice Allenworth of Topeka, Kansas and Mrs. Birdie Slayton of South Windsor, Connecticut.
