"SLAYTON, Birdie (Peer)

Birdie (Peer) Slayton, 65, wife of Richard M. Slayton, of Saginaw Street, South Windsor, died Sunday (Feb. 22, 1998) at Manchester Memorial Hospital. She was born in Lawrence, KA, and had lived in South Windsor for the last 26 years. Besides her husband, she leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Marvin and Deborah Slayton of Canton; a brother, Charles Peer in South Dakota; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Alice and Jack Allensworth, and Mary Lou Aaron, all in Kansas; three grandchildren, Thomas an d his wife, Maureen Slayton of Manchester, Jennifer Slayton, and Richard P. Slayton, both of Glastonbury; a great-grandson, Cody Slayton; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be Tuesday, 10 a.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor. Burial will be in Wapping Cemetery, South Windsor. Her family will receive friends, today, 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the South Windsor Ambulance Corps, P.O. Box 705, South Windsor, C T 06074.
