Drusilla Angeline Daiker Abney, age 88, formally of Auburn, Iowa, entered into Eternal Life on Nov. 8, 2006.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, 2006, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Auburn, Iowa, Celebrant will be Father Larry McCarty. Burial is in St. Mary's Parish Cemetery in Auburn. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Lampe Funeral Home in Lake City.
She was born on April 9, 1918, to the late Caroline and John A. Daiker in Glidden, Iowa. She was married to the love of her life, late husband Merl Jones Abney for 49 wonderful years.
She is survived by their children, Merl John Abney, wife Judy, Princeton, Mo., Janice Ray Abney Dery, late husband Charles, Deming, NM, LuEtta Colletta Abney Peterson-Bright, husband Frank, Round Rock, Texas, Roger Clifford Abney, wife Betty, Cobden, Ill., and Peggy Ann Abney Easterwood, husband Eddie Larry, Deming, NM; nine grandchildren, Randy Peterson, Valarie Peterson McMicken, Sabrina Easterwood Newton and Bill Easterwood, reside in Texas. Fawn Dery Lindbloom and Lisa Abney Brezinka reside in Minnesota, Ryan and Erin Abney reside in Illinois, and Todd Dery resides in South Carolina; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Mabel Daiker Schug, Ila Mae Daiker, brothers, John B., Leonard and LeRoy Daiker, and grandsons, Gregory Dery and Joseph Abney.
We will miss her loving ways, beautiful smile, great stories and life lessons. She was a precious jewel to our family and will remain in our hearts forever.
