WHEATON -- Adelina L. Abitz, 85, Wheaton, died Monday, April 15, 2002, at an Onaga hospital.
Mrs. Abitz had been a homemaker for many families in the Onaga area.
She was born April 18, 1916, on a farm near Onaga, the daughter of William and Theresa Brunkow Honig. She was raised in Onaga and Duluth and graduated from Onaga High School in 1935.
Mrs. Abitz was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League at the church. She also was a member of the Jolly Friendship Club.
She married Herbert Abitz on March 16, 1938, in Duluth. He died on Jan. 24, 1989.
Survivors include three sons, Lee W. Abitz, Emmett, Jerry Abitz, Onaga, and Ronald Abitz, Wheaton; a sister, Gladys Jeanneret, Onaga; and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Wheaton. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Abitz will lie in state from 1 to 8 p.m. today at the church, where a prayer service will be at 7 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church or the charity of the donor's choice and sent in care of the funeral home.
