Julia never married. She was a beautiful woman who had a wonderful artistic talent. She painted and sketched many pictures, especially flowers and birds, using varius mediums of oil, water color, charcoal, etc. She was also an excellent horticulturalist, growing gorgeous flowers and plants at her home. She cared for both her parents until their deaths. She was well liked and had many good friends. Julia was the 5th of 10 children born to David Worthly Mitchem, Sr. and Martha Ann Willett Mitchem, of Lowell, NC.
