Frank Leamer Dies in Accident after his clothes caught in the ice chute of the Consumers Ice company plant at Crystal lake, about 7:30 o'clock this morning, Frank Leamer, 41 years old, of South Sioux City, Neb., was slashed to death when he was unable to extricate himself. His body passed through the ice planers, a device at the head of the chute composed of sharp knives to plane the dirt and snow from the ice. Leamer was standing midway between the planers and the base of the chute. When caught he uttered a cry but fellow workmen were unable to stop the chute in time. Both his legs were broken and his body was cut open by the sharp knives. When he was taken from the chute he never regained consciousness. He died a half hour later. Frank Leamer was the ninth child of Perry Leamer and Susan Geesey. Perry and his brother George Leamer came to Nebraska from Pennsylvania. George married Margaret Geesey, Susan's sister. A third sister, Sarah Geesey, had been Perry's first wife but she died. Leamer is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lena Leamer, and two sons, Wilber, aged 12 years, and Maurice, aged 9 years; one brother, William Leamer, of Homer Neb., and four sisters, Mrs. William Abbott of South Sioux City; Mrs. William Broyhill of Homer, Neb.,; Mrs. Ollie Hale of Homer, Neb. And Mrs. Thomas Gribble of Dakota City, Neb. The body was taken to Samuels Bros. undertaking parlors, where it is being held pending funeral arrangements. Leamer had been working for the ice company about a week.
