Brenda Painting Abbott, 64, of Summit, died Sept. 1, 2010, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center.

Visitation is 5 to 8 tonight at Hartman-Sharkey Funeral Home in McComb and continues there 10 a.m. Friday until services at 11. The Rev. Bobby Boyd and the Rev. Larry Wallace will officiate. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery.

Mrs. Abbott was born March 15, 1946, in Pike County, to John W. and Flora Mae Allen Painting.

She was a wife, mother, homemaker, and a member of the Methodist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother-in-law, Judge William Flowers.

Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Joseph H. Abbott Sr. of Summit; her mother-in-law, Wilda H. Abbott of Summit; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Joseph H. Abbott Jr. of Jackson and John M. and Millie Abbott of Summit; a daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca A. and Nick Zotti of New Orleans; two sisters, Sue Hanson of The Villages, Fla., and Sharron Faye Flowers of Florence; three grandchildren, Kimberly Rachelle Abbott, Brittany Nicole Abbott and James Quannia Abbott; and a great-grandchild, Gregory Rylan Pigott.

Pallbearers will be James Abbott, Kevin Brumfield, Kevin Mercier, Jerry Warren, Paul Moak and James Michael Slaughter II. Honorary pallbearers will be Nick Zotti, Joey Dykes, Ronald Dickey, Ronnie Whittington, Greg Pigott, Dillon Ramer and Lawrence Weems.
