Milwaukee, NC - Richard Elliott Ricks, 61, died Friday, July 22, in a Roanoke Rapids hospital.
A native of Northampton County, he was the son of Richard Sidney and Maude Odom Ricks and the husband of Mrs. Jessie Collier Ricks.
He was an employee of the North Carolina Highway Maintenance Department.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Nellie R. White of Annandale, VA, Mrs. Bernice R. Duke of Newsoms, VA and Mrs. Louise R. Barrett of Murfreesboro, NC; and five brothers, Otis, Preston, Gilmer and Lee Ricks of Conway, NC and Richard S. Ricks Jr. of Goldsboro, NC.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 pm, Saturday, at the Milwaukee Cemetery by the Rev. Billy Herbert.
