Conway — Richard Sidney Ricks, 73, died in Norfolk Saturday after a long illness. Funeral services were held Monday at 2:30 pm at Conway Methodist Church. Burial was in the Town of Conway Cemetery. The Rev. J. E. Garlington officiated. He was a life-long resident of Northampton County and a member of the Providence Methodist Church at Severn.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Maude Odom Ricks; seven sons, Otis, Fred, Lee, Gilmer, all of Conway, Sidney Preston of Brooklyn, NY, Richard Elliott of Portsmouth, VA and R. S. Jr. of Bath; three daughters, Mrs. Louise White of Winston-Salem, Mrs. Bernice Duke of Newsoms, VA and Mrs. Louise Barrett of Littleton; three brothers, Lloyd Ricks and Grady of Conway and 0. B. Ricks of Norfolk, VA; two sisters, Mrs. Addie Futrell of Conway and Mrs. Mollie Vick of Norfolk; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
